Roe Green Cricket club was founded in 1881 and been at the centre of our village at its current location since 1902.

The original wooden pavilion ,built in 1920,and now listed as a heritage asset in the Worsley conservation area and is described as a”typical Lancashire County League Cricket Club building of rural character.

The years of use have taken its toll and major work is required on the foundations and the structure of the pavilion, refurbishment, modernisation are also required before the pavilion falls into disrepair .

The amount of work required needs professionals to do this which is expensive so the club is applying for a grant to cover the costs.

Viridor Credits run funding schemes for community, heritage or biodiversity projects and the club has applied for a grant to part fund this project.

The club is asking for letters of support to help with the application by sending a letter or email to add to their application.Letters /emails of support should be sent to  or hand delivered or posted to RGCC,GREENLEACH LANE, WORSLEY,MANCHESTER,M282QW .
