DEERS ON THE GREEN

For the first time full size Deer ,not Muntjac the smaller type, have been seen on Roe Green  about two weeks ago.

The sighting was at 9.00am in the morning on the section of the green opposite Blanford avenue Near the seats that are on the path crossing the green.

The Deer moved across the green to  the section adjacent to the loopline and appeared to be looking for away through.

ROE GREEN LOOPLINE

Over the last ten years there has been continuous  improvements to the linear walk way,it is now also a cycle track and the improvements are still on going and will be completed this summer.

The loopline,as it is now called, is part of the national cycle network55 and stretches from Little Hulton to Monton.

A celebration to mark the completion of the loopline will take place on Wednesday 6th  July at 10.30 am on Parrfold park at at location near the loopline.

One of the advantages of exploring the loopline from Parrfold park is access has been provided for wheel chairs ,there are not many others, one is at Worsley old railway station and at the end of the loopline at Monton

There are other access points onto the loopline but these are via steps down to the lower level.

Hope this of interest to you
