Due to the rejection of Salford’s Council “Core Strategy” plan by the Secretary of State our Local Green Spaces are under threat by local developers such as Peel Holdings.

Areas at Risk.

BROADOAK PARK  600 houses. VICARS HALL LANE 140 houses. GREYLAG CRESCENT 24 houses.SIMPSON GROVE Boothstown 23 houses.IRLAM AND CADISHEAD 1400  houses.LUMBER LANE Roe Green 50 houses.CROSSFIELD DRIVE up to 200 houses.MOSSFIELD RD 30 houses.HAZELHURST Worsley Green belt 450 houses.HAZEL HALL CLOSE Worsley 9 houses.BOOTHSTOWM BASIN 18 units.MESNE LEA RD 15 houses.BEESLEY GREEN AREA 60 housesMOSS COLLIER RD 24 house development.

These Green spaces need to be protected and one of the ways is with a united community response from areas such as Worsley. Roe Green. Boothstown.Walkden.Moorside.Ellenbrook.

Meetings are held in the Roe Green  Church Hall on Wednesdays at 2.00pm and we look forward to your support and meeting you all again through 2013.

A happy  New year to one and all, a little belated but we hope it will be for all our members.

2012 finished with a grand finale with the Eccles Choir entertaining with a Christmas Selection in front of one our largest meetings.

We also wish to thank all the kind residents on the Green who have supported  Friends of Roe Green throught the year. Attending our monthly afternoons at the Church Hall.Kindly donating to the various collections we make and to cap it off with a grand effort for the Christmas lights when we received £1665.00.
