The 250th Anniversary of The Bridgewater Canal.

This year is the 250th Anniversary of the Bridgewater Canal and events will take place through the year in Worsley to celebrate this occasion.

As part of these celebration The Friends of Roe Green reproduced a handbook and souvenir of the 153rd Anniversary of the canal held in June 1914, which took place in the grounds of Worsley Hall ,with the kind permission of The Rt Hon.The Earl of Ellesmere.See our website entry in July 2010.

Our reproduction has been a great success and we are pleased to say it has been entered for The Frank Mullineux Award for 2011.

Our reproduction is an interesting insite into the life and style of that period.

It also contains lots of historic information of our area.

These Reproductions can still be purchased for £5,which raises funds for community projects in Roe Green.

Contact Annette Walsh on 01617935489 for your collectors copy.

ROE GREEN PLAYGROUND.

ATTENTION PARENTS AND CHILDREN.

The Friends of Roe Green are applying for funding to purchase two new items of playground equipment for our playground.

To do this we need to have a public consultation so that the parents and children can view the proposed options and give their views.

We are going to hold the consultation at the obvious venue, the playground it’s self.

This will take place on Saturday 26th March 2011 from 10.00am to 12.00pm.so please come along and join in the discussion, everybody welcome
